The new system has recently been launched by the Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique. The minister believes that the new e-ticketing system will help Pakistan Railways’ customers to book their train tickets online without any hassle.
People believe that Pakistan Railways’ e-ticketing system is a great step towards improving the booking process. According to the minister, passengers cannot only book their train tickets online but can also pay for their tickets via credit/debit cards, UBL Omni and UBL Mobile Account.
Pakistan Railways’ e-ticketing system is currently available in 51 cities across the country and the service will soon be available in more cities. In this article, you will find all the information you need to book a train ticket online in Pakistan.

Procedure To Book E-Tickets

The following are the few steps that will help our readers by providing all the related information about booking tickets from Pakistan Railways and their prices as well. The steps that are mentioned below are aimed to explain the procedure in detail about e-ticketing from Pakistan railways.

Step 1

The first step is to register a free account on Pakistan Railways’ website. For registration, you need to provide your full name, mobile number, email address and CNIC number. Users will then be required to create a password of their choice. Now, accept the terms and conditions by ticking the box on the left side and click on the “Submit” button.

Step 2

Once you have completed the registration process, you need to verify your account. To verify your account, you have to click on the link you will receive via email and have to enter a unique code you will get via SMS on account creation page.

Step 3

Once your account is verified, you can start making reservations. To book your train tickets online click here and then enter your login details. Once you’re logged in to your account, you will be required to select your departing and arriving stations along with the departure date.

Step 4

Once you’ve selected the departure date and the stations, a list of trains and seats available for your journey will be displayed on your screen. Review all the information about ticket price and train to select the train, class and seat you want to book. After making the decision, click on “Book Selected Seats” at upper right corner of the screen.

Step 5

After booking the seat(s), you will be required to provide your mobile number on which you will receive booking confirmation via SMS. You will also be required to provide details of every passenger (if applicable) including name, age and CNIC number. We advise our readers to carefully read the two information boxes on upper and lower section of the screen.
After providing all the information, your seat(s) will be on hold only for 4 minutes, therefore quickly proceed to checkout.

Step 6

You will now be required to select one of the payment options. After providing your payment information, you will receive the order ID with a two hours validity.
If you failed to make the payment within 2 hours, then your booking will be canceled and the seats that you booked will be re-opened for other passengers.

Once you’ve made the payment, you will receive a confirmation SMS from Pakistan Railways, which will include the details of your booking and the message will be treated as your ticket.
