FBR To Monitor Tax Returns with a New Software
The Federal Board of Revenue has recently launched a software application called ‘Centralized Sales Tax & FED Assessment & Processing (CSTAP)’ to monitor tax returns.
The Chairman FBR Syed Shabbar Zaidi inaugurated the software at the FBR Headquarters earlier this week. The software is aimed to detect tax gaps and to identify actual sales tax/ FED liabilities of every taxpayer.
IR-Operations Member Seema Shakeel gave a live demonstration of the application to the Chairman. She also told the Chairman that the software will speed up the processing of refund claims.
Chairman Zaidi was also informed that a team of 25 officers will test run the application on 11 September. Once the test run is successful, the project would be made available to field offices of the FBR around the country.
